This approach focuses on the solution for the present and future not analysing the problem of the past. If you have experienced unpleasant events, we acknowledge they happened, then I help you get from where you are to where you want to be.
Provided you’re willing to make changes to the way you think the therapy can be highly effective. Focusing on solutions means we don’t dwell on problems.
We all experience the hypnotic state in our everyday lives. For example, have you ever been driving and unable to recall parts of the journey? Or have you ever been engrossed in a book and not noticed time passing? If so, you’ve been in a state of focused attention, not unlike the feeling of being hypnotised. The Hypnosis itself is a way of making you feel relaxed but at the same time fully aware of your surroundings. It allows you to access your subconscious mind and make changes at that subconscious level so that you identify possible solutions and answers and help you work towards them.

What does a session involve?
The initial consultation is a opportunity for us to meet and discuss the best way forward for you. It provides us with the opportunity to discuss your situation and what you want to achieve. I will then explain how the mind works and how hypnotherapy can help and will give you an indication of how many sessions you are likely to need. You can then decide if it is the right way forward for you and whether you wish to book subsequent sessions. No hypnotherapy will be undertaken during the initial consultation. As part of the initial consultation I will also give you a free CD to take away with you.
Subsequent sessions will involve discuss your progress and identifying desired changes and looking for solutions. This session will include guided relaxation and visualisation techniques to help with the process of bring beneficial changes. You will be asked to listen to the CD between sessions.
The number of sessions required is dependent on the client’s needs and progress and is normally determined during the initial consultation. phobias normally r 2-4 sessions, anxiety typically takes 6-12 sessions and quitting smoking normally requires only one session.
